FROM DUBLIN AIRPORT

Maynooth lies just 33km south-west of Dublin Airport, around 40 minutes travel time by car. Please allow extra time in your schedule for traffic as timing can vary, especially during peak times. The cost of a taxi will vary, the driver-average fee will range from €50-80.

ARRIVING BY CAR

Parking for hotel guests at The Glenroyal Hotel is free but the car park will be very busy for this race meeting. The car park is located surrounding the hotel on ground level. There are no entrance and exit barriers and no ticket is required. Driving Directions are available here

Private Transfers are available to and from Dublin Airport with our travel partner, Platinum Driving Services. You can view charges and book online HERE. For Groups of 7 or more guests we can offer Private return coach transport from €250 each way.

CHECKING IN

Please go to Hotel reception and check in. If you arrive before check in time (3:30pm) you may not have access to your room. In this case the Hotel will store your luggage for you until your room is ready. The Hotel will be 100% full during this event so please be prepared for a longer check in time than normal.

OUR GUEST DESK

Our Race and Stay guest desk is located a short distance from Hotel reception. Our staff are based there from 11:00 each morning and this is where you will collect your race tickets from each day. We are there to help you have the best time possible. Please check our screens for the latest information.

YOUR ROOM AND COMFORT

Glenroyal Hotel Guest rooms are all en-suite are very comfortable and feature signature Beds and Pillows. You'll have plenty of hanging space for your clothes, with in room safe, tea and coffee station, hairdryer, flat screen TV and channels, iron and board, fluffy towels and all you need for your stay.

EATING AND DRINKING

The Enclosure Restaurant offers excellent quality cuisine. The Arkle Bar itself is a great spot, named after Arkle, who should need no introduction to racegoers, casual dining and great drinks are served from 3pm. The Shoda Cafe offers top quality speciality teas and coffees and a range of snacks.

LEISURE

If you enjoy your leisure at hotels then the Glenroyal is definately for you. The Glenroyal Leisure Club includes a fully equipped gym, fitness studio, and two swimming pools. Open on Weekdays: 6am – 10pm and Weekends & Bank Holiday: 8am-8pm use of the Leisure Centre is free to our guests.

CLOSE BY

Maynooth Town is the social hub of the local area with many great local bars, restaurants and entertainment each night, all within a 5 minute walk from the Glenroyal Hotel. There is also Championship Golf nearby at The K Club or Carton House, between them hosting 4 of the very best golf courses in Ireland.

RACING PREVIEW SHOW

Our Racing Preview show takes place on Friday night at Lawlors Hotel, Naas at 8pm. Enjoy a light hearted infomative Festival Weekend racing preview show with our special guests hosted by the Racing Post's Dave Jennings. Taxis will cost €30 each way, Admission is Free for all race and Stay guests.

THE RACES

The Irish Champions Festival features Group 1 races each day and a number of high value supporting contests to enjoy. Racing starts at 14:15 on Saturday at Leopardstown with a 9 race card. On Sunday at The Curragh the first race is due off at 13:30 and the last race is at 17:35.

RACE TRANSPORT

On Saturday there is a dedicated coach to Leopardstown Racecourse departing at 12 noon. Where the coach drops you off is where you'll catch the coach back to the hotel after racing. On Sunday we run one coach to and from The Curragh which departs at 12:20pm and departs the Curragh at 18:15pm.

TICKETS & HOSPITALITY

Please collect your race tickets from our Guest Desk no later than 11:30 each morning. When you arrive at the racecourse entrance you will have your ticket scanned and you are free to enjoy your day. Premier Level and Hospitality guests will be escorted by our staff to the area they are booked into.

AT THE RACES

Both days will be very busy but great fun. At both Leopardstown and The Curragh there are several food and drinks outlets outside and inside the grandstands. Entertainment will be on during the afternoon and after racing and if you'd prefer to stay on for the evening entertainment just let us know.

WHAT TO WEAR

There is no formal dress code on Irish Racecourses but no sportswear or anything offensive. For the Ladies, if you want to “glam up for the day” please do so, but do also dress for the weather. For the Gents, smart casual always works in all areas but the main rule is to be comfortable and warm in what you are wearng.

Premier Level will have access to the third floor of the grandstand. This level has additional Bars and a Restaurant and Tote outlets. Package also includes a reserved grandstand seat overlooking the racecourse.

Located on the first floor of the grandstand with the racecourse on one side and a balcony overlooking the parade ring on the other. 3 Course A la Carte Lunch, race card and reserved restaurant seat for the day.

PAVILION HOSPITALITY

Located in the new Pavilion Building with panoramic windows with great views. You also have access to the Grandstands and facilities. 3 Course Buffet Lunch with race card and reserved restaurant seat for the day.
