The Killarney Summer Festival is always special with large crowds and fabulous racing and entertainment lined up for the week. Held at Killarney Racecourse, in the beautiful County Kerry on the West Coast of Ireland. Five days of racing starting at tea time gives our guests plenty of time each day to enjoy the fabulous Kerry scenery on the Ring of Kerry, visit local ttractions or just relax. The races are always competitive, entertainment happens during and after racing and in true festival style fashion plays a big part with the very popular Ladies Day on Friday breaking record attendances each year.
Killarney is a busy town with lots of accommodation and is a great place to stay for touring the Ring of Kerry. For race-goers Tralee represents better value for your racing break, only 25 minutes from Killarney racecourse with Excellent Bars, Restaurants, Hotels and attractions on your doorstep. The Races
A great mix of Flat and Jump Racing
Key races feature on each of the 5 days with Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday staging quality flat race meetings with prestigious races such as the Kingdom Gold Cup, the Cairn Rouge Stakes, the Ruby Stakes. Thursday & Friday play host to good quality National Hunt (Jump) race cards. Friday is also Ladies Day and by far the busiest day of the week. It seems like the whole of County Kerry attends!. That said exciting, ultra competitive races take place on all of the days. Altogether a fabulous five days in a very scenic part of Ireland with much to offer the many vistors the festival attracts each year.
Racing at Killarney takes place in evenings each day and our recommendation is to attend Thursday and Friday - attend all week and you'll be a local !!
