The Races
Key races feature on each day of the week with the premier days being Wednesday for the Tote sponsored Galway Plate and Thursday for Ladies Day and the Guinness sponsored Galway Hurdle. That said good quality and exciting races take place on all of the days. Monday and Tuesday are evening meetings. Wednesday also starts late, a premier day with the prestigious Tote Galway Plate anchoring the days racing. Thursday is Ladies Day, which features the valuable Guinness Galway Hurdle as the main event. Friday is an evening meeting and a very popular day, the day the locals all attend, with more good quality racing taking place. Saturday and Sunday are afternoon meetings featuring ultra competitive racing with a host of entertainment going on in the background.

The Galway Festival is renowned for an electric atmosphere, thrilling, top class, flat and jump racing and a fabulous vibe post racing in all Hotels and in Galway City, the social hub of the festival week.
Racing usually starts at 5:10pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday and around 2:00pm on Thursday, Saturday & Sunday. Guests have plenty of time after a hearty breakfast to enjoy a visit to Galway City, Play Golf, take a trip to the many visitor atractions or just to chill out before the day's excitement begins.
