Who We Are
Formed in 2012 originally in partnership with The Curragh Racecourse and John Coughlan Catering, we were born from our love of horse racing, the need to deliver more racegoers to The Curragh and the want to deliver a first class guest experience to those we look after. Due to the success of this project and the need to seperate the business ideals, Race and Stay™ and Curragh Hospitality™ are now registered trading names of an independent company, Enigma Marketing Limited, (Registered in Ireland No: 524249). We are a 100% Irish owned company with offices in Roscommon and on The Curragh. We act as booking agents for a number of Racecourses, Hotels, Transport Companies and Visitor attractions who pay us a commission for selling their services to you.
What We Do
We make booking a racing break easier for our guests, securing the best hotels and racecourse hospitality, transporting them efficiently and safely to and from Airports and Racecourses. We also have access to exclusive tours and visits to racing stables, stud farms, visitor attractions and much more.
We are also the ONLY official appointed guest management agent for Horse Racing Ireland for Irish Champions Weekend and The Curragh. We also deal with several official Racing Agencies and act as Irish Agents or fulfilment partners for Tour Companies Worldwide:
How We Do It
By listening to what race goers and international visitors want, by using our principles over 30 years of experience in Irish tourism, hospitality and guest management and by consultation with the Racecourses, Hotels and Suppliers we work with, we created our managed packages and branded them as Race & Stay™.
These pre-formed packages we sell online through our own and partner websites, along with a myriad of client requested bespoke racing breaks and services.
Our Race & Stay™ Packages are well thought out, very competitively and transparently priced and we deal with all aspects of guest requirements which can include: Hotel bookings, airport transfers, return transport to and from racecourses on race days, racecourse admission and hospitality packages, side trips and a bespoke concierge service. Essentially - “Whatever you want, we will provide it”. Our reputation is excellent, with the suppliers we work with to deliver the perfect racing package, and also with our customers too. From our conception we have grown quickly and up until June 2018 we had booked over 8,600 guests into various hotels for a variety of stays from simple 1-night B+B with racing to more detailed 7 or 10 night holiday packages with racing, golf and other activities as part of their trip. In 2018 we will handle more than 2,000 Race and Stay and hospitality guests for the Curragh, booking more than 1,800 room nights in local and national hotels. We will also transport and manage over 3,500 guests this season for a variety of agents worldwide. Our clients come from all countries and all occupations. We have party groups, social and racing clubs, tour agent’s guests, event companies, local, national and international businesses, singles, couples, friend’s group’s, and VIP guests who regularly book with us.
Our aim is to keep on giving customers what they want in a friendly, professional and transparent manner, to grow steadily but securely and to deliver a first class, value for money service to every client we book for. Race & Stay Guests
Firstly - Thank You for booking with us, we look forward to welcoming you. When you book with us we will email you a booking confirmation. All booking confirmations start with an RS number. This is your booking reference with us. If you have not received a booking confirmation please CALL US on +353 45 522795.
Your booking confirmation details all of the items you have reserved with us. Please check to make sure that all of the items you want to book are included in your package. If any changes are required please

of Booking as shown on our website.
We like to think that we are as flexible as possible with our guests and that our cancellation / amendments policy is both easy to understand and fair to you and us too. There are no "hidden nasties" and we have simplified our policy to account for the terms we book under with our third party suppliers.

IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL OR CHANGE YOUR BOOKING
|Not Less than 30 Days before your Arrival Date
|You can cancel or change your booking in whole or part without any cancellation fees or penalties and we will refund 100% of any monies you have paid us.
|From 30 Days to 7 Days before your Arrival Date
|You can cancel or amend your booking but changes may be subject to additional fees and cancellation will result in loss of your deposit.
|From 7 Days prior to your Arrival Date
|No refunds are possible and changes will be subject to additional fees and cancellation will result in you being charged 100% of your booking value.
IF WE CANCEL OR CHANGE YOUR BOOKING
|On or After your Arrival Date
|No refund will be made on any part-used components of your booking with us. You will be charged 100% of the price of all part-used components.
The balance of the cost of your arrangements (including any surcharge where applicable) is due not less than 30 days prior to arrival. If we do not receive this balance in full and on time, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled by you in which case the cancellation charges set out above will become payable and we will retain the deposit paid.
If our third party suppliers are unable to fulfil part or all of the booking you have placed with us we will (a) offer you an alternative and equvilent option or (b) cancel your booking in full and refund any monies you have paid us. Either one of the options is in full and final settlement and is the full extent of our liability to you. The limit of our liability to you is the price you have paid us only, we are not liable for any other or additional expenses you may incur in respect of your booking with us.
We strongly recommend that you have adequate insurance to cover any loss you may face in amending or cancelling your booking with us.
When you book with us we place a reservation with your selected Hotel.
At Check In
Before you arrive we will have paid the Hotel in full for the items shown on your Booking Confirmation. Your Booking Confirmation then acts as a Pre-Paid Hotel Voucher and will be honored by the hotel. If you request additional services not shown on your booking confirmation, or changes to the booking we have made for you, you may be subject to additional charges by the Hotel. The Hotel may request a credit card on check in to cover additional services which you may order during your stay.
During Your Stay
You are subject to the Hotel's individual guest policies and terms of service. Please also familiarise yourself with any health and safety notices applicable to your stay.
Check In - Check out
Check in time is usally 2pm and Check out time no later than 12 noon. If we have requested an early check in or late check out this will be noted on your booking confirmation but we cannot guarantee that the hotel will be able to offer this service to you.
We have Race & Stay™ staff located at each hotel prior to each big event we operate. They will be able to assist you in any matter concerning your booking with us.
When you book with us we place an order with the Event Organisers.
Before you arrive we will have paid the organisers in full for the items shown on your Booking Confirmation. Your Booking Confirmation then acts as a Pre-Paid Event Voucher and will be honored by the venue. If you request additional services not shown on your booking confirmation, or changes to the booking we have made for you, you may be subject to additional charges.
We may deliver tickets to you by email, post or in person. We may also request that you collect tickets at the Ticket Collection booth on arrival at the venue.
At The Venue
When you pass through the entrance of the venue you become subject to the venue's individual guest policies and terms of service. Please also familiarise yourself with any health and safety notices applicable to you.
When you book with us we place an order with our dedicated travel service operators.
Before you arrive we will have paid the supplier in full for the items shown on your Booking Confirmation. Your Booking Confirmation then acts as a Pre-Paid Transport Voucher and will be honored by the guest transport service. If you request additional services not shown on your booking confirmation, or changes to the booking we have made for you, you will be subject to additional charges payable directly to the transport service.
Coach & Transport
The transport companies we contract are all: Insured, Licenced to transport guests and are the best we can provide to look after you during your stay. Generally we have worked with them for a large number of events and are confident of their ability to deliver and return you safely from point to point.
When you alight a coach or travel vehicle you become subject to the transport operators individual guest policies and terms of service. Please also familiarise yourself with any health and safety notices applicable to your journey.
Pick Up and Collection Times
Individual collection times are noted on your itinerary and booking confirmation. Due, but not limited to, Travel Restrictions, Garda enforcement, Road Works, Traffic Delays, Venue Event Timing Alterations or other circumstances beyond our control, and as a convienience to our guests. We may have to amend your departure times from each location at short notice. If any changes are required to your itinerary we will notify you by email, telephone or in person as soon as we have the information to hand
Consideration for Other Guests
When travelling as a group or as part of a multiple group transport it is vital that you consider the convienince, safety and welfare and show respect and consideration to other guests travelling. We do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour of any description to anyone and any offenders will be asked to leave the transport service immediately. If they fail to do so then we will request that Garda (Police) attend the vehicle to remove and charge the person(s) as required.
Please consider the convienince, safety and welfare and show respect and consideration to other guests travelling by making sure that you are ready to depart and in the correct departure point in good time for your journey. Our drivers will not wait for you if you are late.
Guests are informed that our travel operators will NOT ALLOW, Alchoholic Drinks or food to be consumed on the coach / travel vehicle. For non alcoholic drinks please ask the driver when you alight the vehicle. All vehicles we provide as a part of your booking are NON-SMOKING.
Guest safety is our and our transport operators prime concern. Please use seatbelts, obey the instructions of the driver and act in a safe and responsible manner at all times during your transport with us.
Dress Codes and What to Wear Suggestions.
Dress Codes at Racecourses
There’s nothing like a race day to let your style shine and for you to enjoy the chance to dress up. The best thing about Racing Fashion is … there really are NO RULES! Well a few simple ones …… NO Sportswear, Collarless Shirts or items that may cause offence to others. You do not need to wear hats, ties or morning suits. Most Irish Racecourses don’t have a strict dress code but they all encourage clients to dress smartly.
One very important thing, and the one most overlooked, is to dress for the WEATHER. We cannot predict the rapid changes in temperture or whether it may rain or not but we can suggest that you allow for this and most importantly dress how you feel most comfortable. Racing is a long day out and you need to feel relaxed and enjoy the occasion, so in conclusion. Wear what suits you best and what you feel most comfortable in. Wear what is most appropriate for the area you are going to spend the day in, Hospitality guests will dress up more than those with tickets only, and finally dress to make allowances for the weather. Smart casual always works for everyone.
For the Ladies
Dress accordingly for the occasion and the weather, you are not going to a wedding or a night club, Don’t have your skirt too short, heels you can’t walk in and too much flesh on display – leave a little to the imagination and Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize.
Solid Colours and Loud and proud colour combinations make for a dynamic, confident look. Feel free to mix it up with another color or be bold and stay true to your chosen colour from head to toe! Accent with accessories of course!! .
For the Gentlemen
Most Racecourses don’t have a strict dress code but we cannot tell you enough how good you guys look in a suit!! Spend a day at the races in a suit and you’ll notice a big rise in the attention you’ll get from the ladies. There are so many different styles and types, it’s impossible not to be able to find one that makes you look great and don’t be afraid to depart from the classic Grey/Black/Navy – try a little colour!
So what to wear with your suit, well this is where you can just let loose and have fun! There are so many stunning options for a guy when it comes to shirts and ties so don’t be afraid to just explode. You can keep it simple with a block coloured shirt and then let the tie say something about you by making it a bold pattern or you can mix up abstracts with colors to make you stand out in the crowd. You can of course wear jeans, trousers, tailored shorts and more casual wear, again dress to account for the weather.
If you have booked a hospitality package and especially on Premier or classic race days you'll find that generally people do dress up. Ladies do wear day wear with hats and accessories, Gents tend to dress in trousers with Blazers or suits with collared shirts. Ties and hats are by no means compulsory. Its up to you how you dress, feel relaxed and make sure that you have a comfortable pair of shoes on. Racing is a long day out so Ladies, those killer heels that look nice may end up being your worst enemy at the end of the day.

Irish Rail (Iarnród Éireann) operate all rail services within Ireland and mainline trains from Heuston Station (Dublin), Waterford, Cork, Limerick and Galway will nearly always stop at Kildare en route. Please check the train timetable online at www.irishrail.ie or call Irish Rail on: +353 1 836 6222. The Curragh operate a FREE shuttle service for Irish Rail Ticket Holders to and from Kildare station for all race meetings. Our Shuttle service starts 2 hours before racing and departs every 30 minutes from Kildare Station until the first race.
The return shuttle departs after the last race on each race day and thereafter every 30 minutes until 1 1/2 hours after the last race. Please note that this is a complimentary service and guests are transported on a first come first serve basis. It is your responsibility to ensure you arrive and depart when the shuttle service is in operation.
If you are using GPS our Eircode is: R56 RR67 and our GPS Co-ordinates are: 53.1653° N, 6.8453° W. Car Parking is FREE at The Curragh. When you arrive, you'll find plenty of free car parking in designated areas just as you exit the Curragh roundabout from the N7. Each Car Park is clearly signposted from the roadway, please follow directions from our helpful parking attendants.

As you may know we are in the process of building our state of the art new Grandstand and Guest facilities, so for this season we can offer you fabulous Hospitality Packages from only €29 pp, Special Party and Group Packages and much more in our new fabulous Hospitality Marquee. The Marquee has two levels, The Champions Terrace on the Top Level and Legends Restaurant on the Ground Floor. Both have excellent seating and facilities and our delicious menus are designed, cooked and served by Ireland's Event Caterer of the Year for 2016 and 2017 John Coughlan Catering.
Pre-Book Only: The Premier dining location for this season, located on the top floor of the two story Hospitality Marquee. Open every race day and offering a delicious 2 or 3 course lunch with packages starting at € 69pp including: Racecourse Admission, Lunch Reserved table for the day and race cards for each guest. There are no direct views over the track but there is in room TV, Racing TV, Tote staff to take your bets and an in house bar with full waiter servce.
Pre-Book Only: The Second dining location for this season, located on the ground floor of the two story Hospitality Marquee. Open every race day and offering a delicious 2 or 3 course lunch with party packages starting at € 29pp for snack hospitality or from € 55pp which includes: Racecourse Admission, Lunch Reserved table for the day and race cards for each guest. There are no direct views over the track but there is in room TV, Racing TV, Tote staff to take your bets and an in house bar with full waiter servce.
Part of our NEW grandstand construction The Bistro overlooks the new parade ring and offers a friendly relaxed atmosphere and serves healthy and light a la carte meals as well as craft beers, wines, champagnes and afternoon teas. This is not a bookable option and guests are served both outside on the terrace and inside tthe restaurant itself. Delicious food with an already growing reputation as the place to be for the summer afternoon.
Located in the area between our temporary grandstand and the parade ring the Garden Area contains several "fast food" outlets from high quality local suppliers such as Hartes of Kildare, Lock 13, Silken Thomas and more serving take away food of very high quality. This area also contains bars and a stage which becomes a lively Apres racing area building up during the afternoon
